INTRODUCTION
• Information Discovering System (IDS): A system
that allows users to search multiple resources
simultaneously.
• There is the need for e-discovery system today.
• The Islamic University College of Ghana (IUCG)
has shifted focus from print catalogues and
resources to electronic ones: IDS is the way.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
• Three databases at IUCG with separate
searching functions: inconvenience to users.
• The IUCG needs a single point of entry for
academic research by providing a uniform
search interface.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
 Aim
– To create a system that can point and retrieve
information sources from multiple databases.

To provide a single point of entry for searches.
To allow users to conduct free query.
To identify sources, topics, links with other sites.
To create pages that will give important information
about the library .
METHODOLOGY
The System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) was
used for this project.

Three databases were created :IUCAT, IUREP and
IUEB.

TESTING THE SYSTEM
• The system was tested using a browser, preferably Mozilla
Firefox.
• The First page is mostly by links.

CONCLUSION
• Remarks on ABCD:

ABCD potentiality and publicity.
Easy installation makes it a force to reckon with.
Its independent modules makes it unique.
The powerful search function of ABCD offers a
possibility of implementing an IDS.
• Recommendations:
– The need to have a complete English version.
– Rectifying the issue of browser compatibility.
