Botany NRC deals with Convention related
issues – identification of Cites species,
consulting to the effect of trade on the status of
the CITES species.
The mostly detained goods with
suspected CITES specimens in
customs:
*“snake vine”
*Stone corals
*Mollusca
“Snake vine” with checkered keelback Xenochrophis
piscator (2007 year -37 units) ir scorpions (25 units)
Heterometrus sp. , also Ahaetulla nasuta (Colubridae),
Rhabdophis tigrinus, Elaphe rufodorsata=Oocatochus
rufodorsatus, Hippocampus spp, Gekko gecko
Stone corals (SCLERACTINIA spp. )
2008 year:
* 20 expertise
2012 – 2011 year:
* 11 expertise to custom (skin,
leather goods, corals )
2013 year:
* 3 expertise (“snake vine” (with
Bungarus sp., scorpions),
corals.
2014 year:
* 5 expertise to custom
* (15 units of “snake vine”
mostly with Xenochrophis
piscator, 32 units of shells, )
