in
Communication
Arts @ APSU
Dr. Frank E. Parcells,
Graduate Coordinator
for Communication
Arts M. A. Program
M. A. in Corporate
Communication
• The Corporate Communication program is
designed to prepare current and future managers
for careers in corporate communication through
Integrated Marketing Communication (marketing
communication, advertising, public relations, sales,
print or broadcast media, and electronic media) or
for doctoral studies.
• The online Corporate Communication program has
been designed with the needs of currently
employed professionals in mind as well as offering
traditional students the opportunity to complete
the degree rapidly.
Fast & Professional Tracks
• The M. A. in Corporate Communication is
offered and can be completed using either the
fast or professional track.
 The Fast Track (roughly a year and a half) option
has students completing four classes per fall and
spring semester with only two classes taken
simultaneously in each semester’s 8-week sessions.
 The Professional Track (roughly 2 and a half
year)option has students completing only two
courses per fall and spring semester with no courses
overlapping in each semester’s 8-week sessions.
Two 8-week Sessions
Every Semester
• The Department of Communication offers
graduate courses only in 8-week
sessions every semester, either the first
(WA section) or second (WB section) 8week session.

work full time to take two classes per

interfere with work or family

Graduate Study is NOT an
Extended B. A..
It is important for all
students in the M. A. in
Communication Arts to
realize that graduate
study is NOT just an
extension of
undergraduate
education. It IS
rigorous, intensive, and
scholarly as demanding
graduate study. We
faculty know because
we make it that way!
