Communication Applications
&
8th Grade Language Arts

High School Credit
High School ½ Credit Elective
One semester long
No longer required to graduate.
Starting with this year’s 9th graders.
Final exam is worth 15% of their average
I believe it is the most valuable class they
will take in high school.
2
Purpose of the Class
The purpose of
Communication Applications is to
produce high school graduates

social and professional situations.

This class is about Speech Communication
Face-to-face communication, that is a
combination of verbal and nonverbal

While students will be expected to give
several class presentations, there is only
one major grade speech.
