Introduction
The Qin dynasty has so many amazing
achievements, that have all contributed to
China today. Qin has created the Great
Wall. They’ve also unified China. They
also followed legalism and the ways of
harsh punishment.
Unification of China
The people took many steps in unifying
China. Emperor Chin started his rule by
stopping all the warring states. Then he
crushed any resistance. Then he built the
Great Wall, standardized the culture, and
destroyed any other beliefs. The emperor
created laws that were based on legalist
beleifs. He also standardized money,
weights, and measurements.
Great Wall
This wall was also called the 10000 Li
long wall. The purpose of the Great Wall
was to keep invaders out. Attackers would
have to gallop halfway to Tibet to get
around the wall. Builders were forced to
make a decision: work on the wall or die. It
took 10 years and 300000 workers to
complete the Great Wall
Legalism/ Harsh Punishments
The emperor believed that he had to
control every minute of the peoples lives. If
anyone did anything out of line they could
be beheaded or whipped. It was illegal to
whine about the Qin government. Once he
executed 460 confucian scholars. He also
burned all of the Confucian books so no
could learn anything other than legalism.
Conclusion
The Qin has contributed so much to the
world we live in today. They’ve created
humongous structures, unified China, and
have controlled the people with legalism.
These achievements have made the Qin
dynasty so important.
