Location & Directions
Stonehenge is located in Wiltshire near Amesbury.












Get on to the M1 at Rotherham
At junction 15a, go into the A43
Take the 2nd exit on the roundabout stay on M43
Once again take the 2nd exit on to the M40 to London/Oxford
At junction 9 take the A41/A34 To Oxford/Newbury
Take the 3rd exit onto the A34
Go on to the A30/A303 toward A343 Salisbury
Take exit no.1 to the A30
Turn right to the A303 to the A343 Salisbury
Take the 3rd exit to the A360
Do the same again on to the A344
Stonehenge is on your left

History and Fame
The history of Stonehenge is in a nutshell really.
Yet there is loads of theories on what it was
used for. Such as a worship or burial place for
the bronze age, or maybe just for decoration.
It was made around 3000-2000 BC (The bronze
age).
Stonehenge is very famous. This is mostly
because it is over 6000 years old. This
mysterious monument was made of
approximately 40 ton of rock. That makes it
lucky to still be in one piece.
Today
Today Stonehenge is visited by lots of
tourists. This is due to it being a world
famous monument. Amazing and clever,
Stonehenge is made of over 80 different
kinds of rocks such as bluestone from
Wales.
 If you pay £30 you can have a guided tour
around this loveable landmark.

