Kansas eTranscript Initiative
What Is It?
This initiative will streamline the exchange of K-12 student records and the
transfer of high school transcripts for all Kansas students.
When Will It Be Deployed?
Pilot districts will begin sending and receiving transcripts and student records
in spring 2010. Rollout will continue until all districts have been implemented.
How Much Does It Cost?
There is no cost to districts or to students. The eTranscript Initiative is
funded through a longitudinal data system grant awarded to KSDE by the
Institute of Education Sciences. Furthermore, the initiative requires no
hardware, software, or ongoing maintenance.

How is the eTranscript initiative being Governed?
• KSDE Steering Committee – Advocate for adoption of the
eTranscript to districts and oversee the initiative.
• Postsecondary - Advocate the eTranscript initiative to the
postsecondary institutions.
• eTranscript Advisory Council (ETAC) - Work as an advisor to the
KSDE Steering Committee to establish and promote the eTranscript
initiative across the State.
• KSDE Website – A tool to provide information about the eTranscript
initiative.
