PONDER THE THOUGHT
• We deal with all varieties of information.
Somebody’s always upset no matter what
we do. We have to make a decision;
otherwise there’s a never-ending debate.
Sergey Brin
• If you really got the right people, and
you've got them working together as a
team, whether it's in business, in politics,
you can make a big difference.
Steve Case
ARTICLE II-CONSTITUTION
• “The executive Power shall be vested in a
President of the United States of America.
He shall hold his Office during the Term of
four Years,…”
• “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will
faithfully execute the Office of President of
the United States, and will to the best of
my Ability, preserve, protect and defend
the Constitution of the United States.”
ADMINISTRATIVE AGENCY
• An official governmental body empowered
with the authority to direct and supervise
the implementation of particular legislative
acts. Such governmental bodies may be
called commissions, corporations, boards,
departments, or divisions.
•
DIRECTION…
• Most administrative agencies are within
the Executive Branch=executive agency,
the president has direct operations control.
• Prez has direct powers over agencies by
appointing the heads of agencies,
allocating funds, setting
policy, and initiating
litigation.
INDEPENDENT vs. EXECUTIVE
• Independent Agency does not fall under
the direction of the president, precludes
president from removing head of agency
w/o cause-possible with executive agency.
Many of AA’s that affect
everyday activities are
independent agencies.
AA’s made up of
experts in field.
