• It became extremely popular in the 1920s and 1930s
• F.S. Fitzgerald was called ´the spokesman of the Jazz Age´

• First appeared in the 1950s
• Influenced also fashion, lifestyle, language
• "Rock Around the Clock" by Bill Haley & His Comets was a
breakthrough for all rock and roll music, it introduced the
music to a global audience
• Best known performers include Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Louis,
Carl Perkins
