Carefully use the
microscope to center
the threads on the
lowest power
Play with the light from
underneath the stage

•Center the image
BEFORE going up!
•Adjust light with
diaphragm and lens
underneath the
stage.
•When on Low
power drive around
the whole field and
choose an area that
is clear and well
defined.
“ I can’t see anything?!?”
What do I do???
• Go back down- back up one
objective lens and CENTER
whatever you want to look at!
• Focus! Be sure what you want
is perfectly in focus before you
go up an objective lens.
• Be sure your specimen is
THIN and FLAT- remember
the scope only focuses in one
plane.
• Adjust the light from
underneath stage.
