do you think scientists use
stains?
Human Cheek Cells
• Sketch 2 human
cheek cells in
one of the
spaces provided.
Label the
following parts:
cell membrane,
nucleus and
cytoplasm.
Elodea Cells – green algae
• This is what the
whole plant
looks like…. But
we’re taking
just one leaf
from the
growing end
and viewing the
cells under low
power.
This is what
they look like
without a stain
like iodine.
• With a stain like
iodine, you can see
more organelles
especially the nucleus.
• Sketch 2 elodea
cells in the
provided space
and label the
following
organelles,
nucleus, cell
wall, cytoplasm
and chloroplast.
Analysis Questions:
• Just complete questions 1 & 3 on the
packet.
• Remember to used colored pencils
when making your drawings.
• Remember to hand in your lab! 
