Kristen’s Story
I was diagnosed with moderate-to-severe hearing loss when I was
18 months old.
Went to a school for the deaf for the first few years of childhood
It was important that a school had carpeting rather than a tile
floor so that sounds wouldn't echo and confuse me.
Whenever a classmate asked me about "the thing in my ear," I
would get upset and run away.
Having speech-therapy sessions three times a week wasn't fun.
I've had about 15 operations on my ears since I was born, most of
which have been tube replacements to help drain my ears.

Audiometry Test & Audiogram: What is Hearing Loss
Audiometry is a hearing test, indicating the hearing loss at different frequency
ranges of a patient.

Modified Hearing Perception

1) User measures the audiogram.
2) The WP8 captures the environment audio.
3) WP8 applies noise filtering, signal processing and frequency analysis
on the captured audio using patient’s audiogram on runtime.
3) The modified audio is then transferred to the patient ear using a
Bluetooth headset, replicating the hearing aid.

This test uses electroencephalogram (EEG) readings from the auditory center of the
brain. Tones are played into the sleeping baby's ear, and the audiologist looks for a
neural response from the baby's brain.
