Facts About the
Purple Tube Sponge
The purple tube sponge is very interesting. It eats
plankton and its predators are a few fish , sea
turtles, and sea slugs. After scientists studied
sponges they realized that these echinoderms ate
food and did not plant characteristics such as
roots. The purple tube sponge provides shelter
for small crabs , sea stars , and other marine
invertebrates. The purple tube sponge is not only
special to the food chain but very special to me!
