Directions:
Get an iPad and got to this website: http://www.firstworldwar.com/index.htm
(or any website that contains primary source materials relating to World War I)
Take your time to browse the materials you find and select:
- A visual primary source (ex: photograph or propaganda poster)
- A textual primary source (ex: Diary, letter, military orders, political speech)
On a sheet of paper labeled #5 WWI Primary Source Web Quest write:
1) Source of documents (web address, author/photographer)
2) Factual Summary of documents (or as much as you can find) – notes OK
3) Analysis of documents (Why are the documents important? What do they
teach us about World War One? Why did you pick the document? Complete Sentences

Move desks to get into small groups as directed
Briefly take turns sharing both your visual & textual document with the small
group
Discuss:

At the end of Assignment #5, add the following:
Reflection: What were some common themes in the documents discovered
by different people and how did these documents help you better understand
the experiences of various people impacted by World War I?
