How to create an Inquiry Question
Your question is critical. Get this right, and everything else is easy. So, some pointers are:
1. make it specific and measurable in some way
2. Include a reference to the topic/purpose/goal.
3. Include reference to the main points of your argument
4. Should be arguable with evidence to back it up (not a yes or no answer)

Helpful hints:
Choose something you are interested in (culture, politics, environment, etc.)
Question is open to research
Able to back up your claim with solid CD from research
You don’t already know the answer
Don’t write a question because you know the answer- it makes it unauthentic
Should have multiple possible answers
Clear focus
Don’t state your answer in the question.
NO: Why do we only use 3% of our brain?
YES: What influences the percentage of our brain that we use?
How do I start making an Inquiry Question
Piece of inspiration: picture, quote, current event, theme, unusual topic/object
Brainstorm areas of interest and curiosity based on inspiration
Translate areas of interests into questions
Research
Revisit Question to improve, focus, or adjust it.
How to Write a Thesis
What is a thesis?
Argument you make in your paper to reflect main point, idea or message
Should be one to two sentences long
Tells reader what paper is about and helps guide your writing/keep argument focused
Tips:
Be as clear and specific as possible; avoid vague words
Indicate point of your paper, but avoid sentence structures like, “The point of my paper is…”
