Students will explore phylogenetic questions
using sequence comparisons in Biology
Workbench
They will construct and analyze the phylogenetic
trees they create using the sequence data
Through the comparison of the work of different
student groups, they will explore the
complexities of tree construction

Students will explore the relationship between
levels of biological organization using resources
on muscle structure found on the Web
They will use the NCBI Entrez Web resources to
examine the relationship between sequence data
and structure
They will access 3-D images of myoglobin
molecules and will compare structures from
different species
