 Casualties in the first two months were
between 10,000 and 15,000.

Civil War
Russia soon broke into a civil war between
the Red Army and the White Army
(supported by anti-communist countries).

 By 1922, other countries joined Russia and
formed the USSR.

Effect on people
Land was given to people.
 Factories were given to workers.
 Equality.



Lenin would use starvation, Poverty, and
force to ensure that people followed him.

This came to an abrupt end with Lenin’s
death in 1924 from a stroke.

Equality.
 It become one based on Fear and
Oppression.


The Creation of Gulag (Prison Camps)
 Use of secret police.
 Purged all political enemies.
 Collectivization of all farms.
 Creates a series of 5 year plans.
 Changing Russian History to show a
communist past.

He Rejected
All Capitalism.
 Individual Freedoms.
 All opposing political parties.

He also is known for the Ukraine Famine.
Later on
After Stalin, the Cold War, and other
leaders.
 Russia became a Perestroika, a liberal
democracy.


