Lessons Learned
• Stay within scope. Client hungry to use every
piece of technology we had produced here and
we bought into it.
• Have clearly defined contracts
• Set Deadlines with Client
• Define Space with Client and Team
• Define PR Responsibilities
• How can the ETC hold its clients accountable?
Lessons Learned Continued
• Self-sufficiency is key.
• You need to have a final script before you
can design the experience.
• The Theatre has a history of chaotic
working environments and insufficient
planning.
Challenges of ‘New Works’
• In our opinion, the script was late and bad
• Linear script with three pockets of
interactivity
• The playwright was philosophically
opposed to our notion of interactivity
More Challenges
• Made a very good attempt to find a
unifying metaphor with the completion of
Susan’s piece.
• Playwright was not interested in working
with us, she wrote another play while in
Pittsburgh.
• Full Spectrum became a series of arbitrary
technology demos in a building.
