Using a Dictionary
• A dictionary is a reference book that contains
the definitions, or meanings, of entry words.
• All entry words are listed in alphabetical order.
• The definition comes after the entry word.
• Guide words are pairs of words listed at the top
of each page. The 1st guide word tells the 1st
entry word on the page; the 2nd guide word tells
the last entry word on the page.
