BIG CHANGE THIS WEEK!
• We have completed our short
vowel spelling words and are
moving into digraphs and blends.
Because of this change, we believe
it is important to change the rigor of
the spelling test. Rubric:
• 9 Spelling Words based on the
pattern (90pts)
• 1 Spelling Word that must be used
in a sentence (10pts)
• We will grade the sentence based
on the following rubric:
– 5 pts – spell the spelling
word correctly
– 1 pt – capitalization
– 1pt – finger spacing
– 1 pt – does the
sentence make sense?
– 1pt – punctuation
– 1 pt – handwriting
