Judge’s Table: Choose one judge from each group to take their group’s list
of words and definitions to the judge’s table. When one of their words is
used in a round of play, that judge will determine if the definition is
correct, and the sentence appropriate. The judges as a group will decide
which group banged first. The judges will also keep up with the scoring as a
group.
Teacher will flash one of the vocabulary words up on a screen, or show a
card up with the word on it and say the word
The first group ready to define the word and use it in a sentence will bang
a book on their desk. The group of judges will determine who banged first.
One member of the group who banged first will then define their word and
use it in a sentence.
After the judges have determined if the definition and sentence is
accurate the teacher will move on to the next word. Teacher moves on even
if the definition was wrong, but she keeps that word in the pile to be used
in another round.
When all the words have been defined correctly, judges tally the scores
and name the team winner.
