Question : Do
Males or
Females Have
Better Memory?
I hypothesize that females
have better memory than
males. I think this because
usually when you ask a female
something, they would
normally know the answer.
The purpose of my investigation is to
determine if males or females have
better memory. This is important to
know because sometimes it is very hard
to remember things that are vey
important. When I need help
remembering things, I would know
who to ask for help.

3)50 index cards with one word
written on each card
Manipulated: Gender of test subject
Responding: Words recalled
Constant:
-Number of words shown
-Time words are seen
-Time given to recall
1. Gather Materials
2. Show one index card to female test
subject for 10 seconds
3. Repeat step 2 with each of the
remaining nine cards
4. Ask test subject to write down as many
of the words as possible they can recall in
60 seconds. Record the number of
correctly recalled words
5. Repeat steps 2-4 with 1 more female
6. Repeat steps 2-5 with males
7. Repeat steps 2-6 for 4 more trials

My hypothesize was correct. Females have better memory
than males. Using males, the average number of words
recalled was 34.5. Using females, the average number of
words recalled was 37. If I would change the thing to
remember, I would use animal cards instead of word cards
because then people could guess the animal instead of a word.
Also animal cards will be a full card and not just a small
word.
