Curriculum: First Half

Divided students into 2 tracks:

Lectures – Students attended lectures and got
assistance with their labs from the team

OCW Self-learning initiative – Students learnt the
material on their own and got help with their labs
from the team
Curriculum: Second Half

Reorganized class after the first exam results.

Students now had 2 options:

Java Track: Covered Java curriculum with SWING final
project at the end

JSP Track: Covered both Java and JSP curriculum with a
database-backed website as the final project
Final Projects

Projects completed over the last week of
class

The Java Track completed the implementation
of a Swing application.

The JSP class built database-driven web sites.
Achievements




Reorganizing the class mid-way enabled us
adapt to the students’ abilities.
More than 50 students successfully completed
the course
Gave students practice and confidence in
their programming abilities
Projects gave students the chance to apply
their skills to solving real-world problems
