Objective
What happened at the Battle
of Trafalgar?
Background…
• In 1789, many British people welcomed
the Revolution and the idea of liberty
and equality. However when France
became a republic in 1792, and the King
was executed, most British people were
horrified. France declared War on
Britain in 1793, and with one short
break the war lasted until 1815.
Why would the British Government be worried
about events in France?
