Final Jeopardy
How is “The Star Spangled Banner” connected
to the War of 1812?
“The Star Spangled Banner” is connected to the
War of 1812 because Francis Scott Key wrote it.
He was on a boat watching the battle at Fort
McHenry just outside Baltimore harbor. He saw
the bombs shooting through the air and when
he woke in the morning, he saw the enormous
American Flag flying. He knew the United States
had won the battle.
