Scheduling Process
•
•
•
Video Presentation on class selection
instructions and procedures are now online. At
the end of the presentation, your student will
be able to print out the required scheduling
forms.
Students will need your signature on their
Course Offering Planning Sheet. If they are
selecting an Honors or AP class, they will be
required to meet the prerequisites, so please
check the Course Description Handbook
found on our website.
Students will meet with their Counselor during
the week of March 28th. They must submit
their signed Course Offering Planning Sheet at
this time.
Master Schedule Concern
• Please help your students make their selections
•
carefully. Students will be committed to the
courses they now select as schedule changes
will be difficult to accommodate in fall due to
class size and course availability.
When students select courses, the Master
Schedule is built upon these requests. Students
that alter class choices create a drastic effect on
the Master Schedule and class size.
Class Selection Procedure
• Students will remain in a year long class until
the end of the semester. At that time, if
recommended, any student with a grade of a
“D” or “F” may request a program change.
• The best schedule is one that balances
classes that are challenging, yet not
overwhelming for your child.
Course Description Book
• Please check the Course Description
Handbook which is available on-line at
www.miracostahigh.org
• Prerequisites for Honors and Advanced
Placement classes will be listed.
A.P. & Honors Course
Commitment/Waiver Forms
• Commitment and Waiver Forms are now
available on our website
• Commitment/Waiver Week – April 11th –
15th. Forms to be turned in to the Student
Store at lunch
• If a Waiver Form is accepted, the
Commitment Form is to be turned in
within one week of notice
• For students who at the time of
scheduling meet the prerequisite for an
A.P. or Honors course yet in the second
semester earn a grade that makes them
no longer eligible, they will have until Aug.
11th to turn in Waiver Form or they will
loose class.
• August 11th is last day to opt-out of any
Commitment or Waiver Form
