Sample: NBC Learn- Links:
Through the Department of Social Sciences’ partnership with NBC Learn,
personnel from NBC Learn have linked both topics and created play lists using
videos from the NBC archives that are associated with the content found in the
pacing guide. The links/playlists provide teachers/students with news footage
from events of historical importance and enable teachers to use primary and
secondary sources associated with important historical events. Important: to
access the links and/or play lists, you must FIRST log in through the employee
portal, click on applications, then click on the bubble for NBC Learn. Then,
click on the links embedded in this pacing guide. Note: You must first have
the NBC Learn site open to access the links. Otherwise, you will only get the 15

School Visits EOC Performance Analysis
U.S. History EOC(only eight schools):
• Many principals, APCs and Department Chairs welcomed our
feedback.
• Concerns: pacing guides and times constraints( time to review).
• Examination issues.( computer glitches and security of item).
• As a result of the visits, changes have taken place.
• One school decided to hire Interventionist.
• Data and accountability.
• Need for more training on data reports and data driven
instruction.
School Visits EOC Performance Analysis
Civics EOC:
•
Overall positive feedback for visiting the schools in person.
•
Concerns: pacing guides and times constraints( time to review).
•
Schools which did not have over 91% of students tested took appropriate
actions. Extremely concerned.
•
Principals are taking the process seriously of determining who should
teach Civics.
•
Need for more training on data reports and data driven instruction.
General Comment:
•
Contact with targeted schools should not be limited to Administrators
and Department Chairpersons but should also include input from
teachers with the highest scores in their schools and throughout the
district
