Textbook Adoption Updates

Florida Department of Education- will publish
list of state adopted textbooks.
District Committees- MAY be formed this fall.
May have to prioritize which grade levels get
new textbooks first.
Priority MAY be given to 6, 7, and 11.
Secondary Priority MAY be given to K-3.

7th Grade End of Course Exam in Civics

Timeline:
2012-2013- Field Test
2013-2014- 30% of the
student’s final course grade
2014-2015- student must earn
a passing score on the EOC in
order to receive course credit.
Bottom Line: 2010-2011 4th graders- when
they reach 7th grade- 30% rule; 2010-2011 3rd
graders- when they reach 7th grade- passing
score rule to receive credit for the course.

Bottom Line: Publishers were given the mandate
from FLDOE to write textbooks ON Grade Levelswitching the course sequence is not feasible at this
point.
