 Credit---Official certification that a student has completed a
course. At BGHS, we have whole (1) credit courses and half
(1/2) credit courses.
 Semester---One of the two divisions of an academic year.
1st semester--the start of school to winter break (August – December).
2nd semester--after winter break until the end of the year (January – May)
 Prerequisite—What is required before you can take a class
 Transcript---A student’s academic record.

Kentucky Educational Excellence
Scholarship (KEES)
Awarded to graduating seniors who will attend a Kentucky College, university or
technical school. The amount received will be based on each year’s GPA and a one
time bonus for the ACT score.
