In an attempt to encourage students to take academically more
challenging high school courses, a weighted grading system is used
at the high school to determine student grade point averages, honor
roll students, academic awards, academic recognition, transcripts
and class ranking. Recognition of graduating seniors is as follows:

GPA of 4.0 or higher
GPA of 3.80 to 3.99
GPA of 3.60 to 3.79
* All 3 groups will be designated in the graduation program.
* Summa Cum Laude will be recognized at the graduation
ceremony and presented with an academic achievement

In keeping with the Mission Statement of Monroeville Local Schools,
which calls for fostering students who are critical thinkers, creative
problem-solvers, and socially responsible individuals, the Monroeville
BOE has adopted a service requirement for graduation which goes
into effect in June of 2015. Students will be required to complete 10
hours of community service per year prior to graduating.




