Facts about the nervous
system
The nervous system is responsible for coordinating and
regulating activities of the cells
The nervous system is divided into two parts, the central
nervous and the peripheral nervous systems
Basically the nervous systems job is to send messages
from one cell to the other
The spinal cord flexes your body and tells your spine to
move
Major organs of the nervous
system
There are two major organs to the nervous system:
1.
The Brain The brain controls your entire body. For
1.
Spinal Cord The spinal cord controls your reflexes for
example if someone were to step on your foot your
brain receives the message that comes from your
sensory neurons and tells you to say ouch.
example, When your at the doctors office and they
tap your knee with the hammer and you kick your
leg that is because the nerve in your knee is
connected to your spinal cord
Functions of the nervous system
The nervous system has three major
functions:
Sensory
Neurons- function is to receive
information from the sensory receptors
Interneurons- their job is to transfer and
intercept impulses
Motor
Neurons their job is to send the
appropriate impulses to the muscles and glands.

The brain controls the
entire body
The spinal cord controls
the movements of your
body
The peripheral nerve
connects the nerves in
your limbs to the spinal
cord
Responsibility of the nervous
system
The
brainstem takes in, sends out, and
coordinates all of the brain's messages.
It
also controls many of the body's
automatic functions, like breathing.
Questions
well hmmm I guess I am done so any
questions.
