were battles in the Mediterranean and
Northern Africa.

immediate goals of the Italians were to
capture oil-rich Middle East and the Suez Canal.
They also invaded Greece to secure invasion of
Egypt.

Germans
and Italians forced the British out
of Greece.
Luftwaffe launched attack on Crete, Greece
with gliders, paratroops and coordinated
fighter and bomber attacks.

support German troops in North Africa
