Europe. Was a good

• A rugged, tough
guy who believed
he was destine to
fight. Came from a
family with a long
military history.

West Point.

in Northern Africa
and in Sicily. Led
the Third Army on
D-Day, a tank
commander,
fought at the Battle
of the Bulge.

his car crashed in

• In WWII was made the supreme Allied Commander
in the SW Pacific Theater.
• Lost and regained the Philippines (“I shall return.”).
Made commander of US Forces in the Pacific.
Accepted Japanese Surrender on Sept 2, 1945.
• Was the supreme
commander of
United Nations
Forces in the
Korean War until
Truman fired him
for not following
orders.
• Served with
distinction in WWI.
• Led an armored
division in France
in 1941 then went
to Northern Africa.
• Was made a Field
Marshal and was
known as the
“Desert Fox”.
• 2nd in Command of the
Nazi party. Was the
only person close to
Hitler with a
distinguished political
and military
background.
• Was a flying ace in
WWI and served in the
Reichstag
• Headed up the
Gestapo, and was
later, the chief of
the air force and
economic dictator
for the Nazis.
• Served in the
Reichstag.
• Minister of
“Popular
Enlightenment and
Propaganda”. Was
good at this.
• Ironically he was a
small man with a
deformed foot and
his wife was raised
in a Jewish
household.
• Headed the SS
(Hitler’s private
army).
• During the war he
was administrator
of the organs of
terror and
genocide. He was
in charge of the
concentration
camps.
• -All of these German leaders committed suicide
before they were captured.
• Goebbels killed himself, his wife, and their six
kids.
• Hitler also committed suicide.
