VESICLE
Dana Angley Pr:2
Activities
• The Vesicle is part of extracurricular
activities, it is located in both animal
and plant cells; but generally larger in
plant cells. A plant cell normally has one
or two large vesicles that take up most
of the cell.
• The Vesicle's hobbies are being involved
in the transportation with mineral within
and without of the cell.
Other Activities
• The Vesicle likes to hangout on the
outside of the cell to fuse with the
plasma membrane to release its
contents; but also hangs out on the
inside of the cell to fuse with other
organelles.
• There is no exact amount of “siblings”
that the Vesicle has, there is no number
found of how many vesicle’s are in a cell.

• Favorite hangout spot: Near the inside of the cell
• Hobbies: holds large amounts of water or food
• Hold onto things that the cell might need (like a
backpack)
• Can also hold the plant waste products
• Might store food or any variety of nutrients a cell might
need to survive
•Has no basic shape/structure
• Extracurricular Activities:
•Found in all kinds of Plant Cells
• Siblings : None
Nuclear Membrane
Hangout spot- it surrounds the nucleus on the outside
Hobbies- it keeps the contents of the nucleus together so it
does not mix with the rest of the cell
Extracurricular activities- the nuclear membrane is in all
plant and animal cells
Siblings- there is only one nuclear membrane for a cell
which it surrounds the nucleus

The Nucleus
Hobbies: The nucleus likes to be in
charge, and is essentially the
command center of the cell. It
carries DNA within itself, but certain
genes are shown in cells based on
their function (ex. Liver cell vs. Skin
cell).
Hang-Out Spots: The
nucleus loves to hang
out right in the
middle of the cell
Extracurricular Activities: The
nucleus is not found in all
cells, an example being red
blood cells. All animal and
plant cells have a nucleus,
but not all cells have it.
Siblings: There is
only one in each cell
that contains a
nucleus

Where do the
Centrioles hang out?:
You can find the
Centrioles hanging out
near the nucleus, but
only when the cell is
dividing.
Do the Centrioles have
siblings?:
The Centrioles travel in
twos. All of the animal like
cells have two Centrioles.
What are their
extracurricular
activites?:
The Centrioles are
only found in animal
like cells.
What are the
Centrioles hobbies?:
The Centrioles help
the cell when it
divides during mitosis
and meiosis.
Hobbies-synthesizing proteins and sending them
to the Golgi body and the cell membrane
Favorite Hang-Surrounding the Nucleus

Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum
AKA: Smooth ER
Favorite Hang-Out Spot:
I'm pretty much stuck with the nucleus, so we're
usually in the middle.
Hobbies:
Creating and storing steroids. Not the muscle builder type, but molecules used in
an organism. Oh, I also like to store ions in case the cell needs any.
Extracurricular Activities:
I’m in most animal and plant eukaryotic cells, but not in the prokaryotic ones.
Siblings:
My twin, the Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (Rough ER)
makes up the ER family with me.
Lysosome
“Lys-awesome”
Teachers call him: “Suicide-bag”
Favorite food: worn out organelles, food
particles, viruses and bacteria
Hobbies: fusing with Vacuole, dispensing
enzymes, digesting their contents and serving as
digestion compartments for non useful cellular
materials
Loving parents: Appa Golgi and Ratus Golgi
Siblings: Dozens (indefinate)
Favorite hangout spot: Cytoplasm (teenage ice
cream pub, usually can find him all over the
place)
Extracurricular Activities: AACC-All Animal Cells
Club, occasional attendance in The Plant Cell
Ylana Lopez p.2
Cell Membrane
Favorite Hang-out: Outer most
part of the cell. In animal the
outmost. In plant the 2nd
outmost
Hobbies: Contains the
Cytoplasm & Organelles
Extracurricular: All cells have
including plants
Siblings: Only one in a single cell.

Golgi Apparatus - Murphy
• Where in the cell?:
The Golgi Apparatus is located in the
cytoplasm of a cell towards the outside, next to the cell membrane.
• Jobs: The Golgi Apparatus receives proteins, lipids and other
macromolecules and secretes them out to other parts of the cell,
particularly the endoplasmic reticulum.
• What cells?: Golgi Apparatuses are found in both plant and animal
cells that are eukaryotic.
• Siblings: There is only one Golgi Apparatus in each cell, however they
are made up of what are called cisternae, and the number of cisternae
differs in each apparatus. The number of cisternae can range from 5 to as
many as 60 in one apparatus.

Chloroplast
• Favorite Hang-Out Spot: Cytoplasm throughout cell
• Hobbies: Photosynthesis- energy from the sun is
captured and converted to glucose (sugars) for food &
oxygen as a byproduct. It is responsible for color
pigments of plants from green chlorophyll found in
chloroplast.
• Extracurricular Activities: Found in almost all land
plants and some algae.

CHROMOSOME
Favorite Hangout Spot:
•
•
Resides in the membrane bound nucleus in
prokaryotic cells.
In Eukaryotic cells they are attached to a protein
core.
Hobbies:
•
•
•
They contain the blue prints for reproduction.
The chromosome number is the same in each cell
of an organism.
Two kinds of chromosomes, sexual and autosomes,
autosomes decide all traits other than gender
related traits
Extra circular activities:
•
All cells have chromosomes, both plant and animal
Siblings:
•
All cells have 23 chromosomes, 22 that are
autosomes and 1 sex chromosome.

Cytoplasm - Waters
Christian Waters P.2
Favorite Hangout Spot
• Cytoplasm is a small gel-like substance that is
clear and 80% water
• Cytoplasm is found in between the cell
membrane holding the organelles in place
besides the nucleus
• Cell division and other cellular activities are
found inside the cytoplasm.
Hobbies
• Its job is to hold together the cells in the
cytoplasm
• It helps dissolve water product and give
nutrients
• It also is a way of transportation and helps
things move around in the cell
Extracurricular Activities
• All cells have a plasma membrane which
includes cytoplasm in it
• Cytoplasm is found in both plant and animal
cells
Siblings
• There is only one cytoplasm in a cell, but it can
increase if water is added.
CENTROSOME
Location: In the center of the cell,
attached to the nucleus
Extracurricular Activities: Found in both plant & animal
cells
-Centrosomes in plant cells do
not have centrioles
Hobbies: -Helps to adjust mitosis by
changing into spindles, which help to split
up chromosomes that are formed by the
nucleus
-A centrosome divides into 2 when DNA is
copied (only once every cell cycle)
-When a new cell is formed by cell
division, one of the centrosomes & its
spindle form the new cell’s nucleus
Siblings: None
