Goering amassed a personal
fortune looting the estates of Jews
sent to concentration camps.
Sentenced to death at Nuremberg
("His guilt is unique in its
enormity," the tribunal decreed),
Goering committed suicide by
cyanide.
HERMANN GOERING
Chief of the High Command of
the Armed Forces (OKW) from
1938 until the end of the War.
War Minister who advised Hitler
and never really questioned his
decisions.
At the Nuremburg trials Keitel
was found guilty of war crimes
and hanged.
WILHELM KEITEL
Minister for Propaganda, he had
total control of the German
press and radio. He was
doggedly loyal to his Fuhrer
(read to Hitler his favorite book
as the Allies approached Berlin)
"It is not propaganda's task to
be intelligent; its task is to lead
to success," he said. He and his
wife committed suicide rather
than surrender
JOSEPH GOEBBELS
Head of the SS, the Waffen SS
and Gestapo and Minister of the
Interior. By the end of the War,
Himmler had become the second
most powerful man in Germany.
Himmler oversaw Nazi Germany's
"Final Solution" and the killing of
millions from "degenerate" races.
He committed suicide by cyanide
before he could be tried at
Nuremberg.
HEINRICH HIMMLER
Hitler's deputy who was
instrumental in the creation of the
Nuremberg Laws.
Hess tried to personally make
peace with Britain in 1941, flying
to the UK on the eve of Hitler's war
against Stalin. Promptly arrested,
he sat out the war as a POW.
Sentenced to life in prison at the
Nuremberg Trials.
Dies in 1987
RUDOLPH HESS
“Architect of the Holocaust”
Chief of the Reich Central
Office of Jewish Emigration
Authorized the deportation
of countless Jews to
concentration camps &
supervised the SS action
groups.
Hanged in 1962.
ADOLF EICHMANN
Commander of the German
Navy's U-boats until 1943
then subsequently
Commander in Chief of the
Navy.
Told personally by Hitler that
he would be his successor.
Spent ten years in prison,
died in 1980.
KARL DONITZ
The “Witch of Buchenwald”
Wife of the Commandant of
Buchenwald camp.
Known for abusing prisoners ,
(She was accused of taking
souvenirs from the skin of
murdered inmates with distinctive
tattoos)
Sentenced to life in prison by my
great grandfather. Colonel John S.
