• HUBS became a graduate gateway in 2016
(students gain exemptions from professional
exams and student membership)
• Students attend CIM events
CIM ‘The Pitch’ 2016
• Students from Universities across the UK invited
to enter The Pitch, where they develop a
marketing plan for a major national brand, this
year the brand was Rustlers
• The first year that Hull entered The Pitch with
two teams (of two students)
• First stage to develop a 2500 word marketing
plan based on insight and creative ideas

CIM ‘The Pitch’ 2016
The top 20 teams invited to ‘Pitch’ their presentation
and campaign ideas to a panel of senior marketers
from companies including IBM, Aviva, Mintel and
leading creative agencies
Both teams from Hull reached the national final
At the high pressured event at CIM HQ, both Hull
teams were named in the Top 3 beating teams from
other Universities including Warwick, Lancaster and
Leeds
Invited to the CIM prestigious Marketing Excellence
Awards at Grosvenor House where the winning order
was announced
HUBS students were announced as First and Second
on the night, highlighting the strength of our
students and HUBS support
It was a clean sweep on the evening as HUBS also
Won a prestigious Marketing Excellence Award for
Best Student Support
