DECA/COOP Overview Goal:
To understand the basic content
of the Marketing course as part
of the Marketing Education
program.

A program designed to give students an option to receive an additional
graduation credit for satisfactorily working a part time job.
70% of students grade is derived from Employer Evaluation, 30% from
wage/hour forms filled out weekly
Basic Rules:
1. You must keep a job all semester long. No job = Failing grade for
quarter!
2. If you change jobs, you must find another job
3. You receive a 2nd elective credit for COOP in addition to your Marketing
class grade.
4. 135-150 hours/ semester, approx. 8 hours per week.
5. Fired = Failing grade for that quarter and the two week rule still applies.
6. You may be dropped from COOP at the discretion of the Advisor.

What is DECA?
DECA’s full name is:
DECA: An Association of Marketing Students
DECA is a co-curricular club for Marketing
Students. DECA is a part of your Marketing
Class, but membership is optional.
DECA is a CTSO or Career and Technical
Student Organization.

3,500 chapters in the US, DC,
Canada, China, Guam, Puerto Rico,
Korea, Mexico, The US Virgin
Islands, Germany and Hong Kong.
DECA has over 200,000 members
worldwide and over 7,000 members
here in North Carolina
