ROOM 16’S YEAR
From Top to Bottom
MATH
For math we learned many things.
 We learned about expressions and algebra.
 We started Mad Minute to improve our adding
and subtracting skills.
 We learned about coordinate graphing.
 We were taught about area and perimeter.

ELA
We also learned many things in ELA.
 Perfecting our summaries, response to
literatures, and narratives was one of the most
important things we did in ELA.
 We read many stories such as Patty Reed’s Doll,
and Stone Fox.
 We always write a summary about a book after
we read it.

SCIENCE
We have 3 main units in science, Electricity,
Geology, and Environment.
 When we studied Electricity, we studied circuits
and magnets and how they work.
 When we studied Geology, we studied about
rocks and minerals.
 When we studied Environment, we studied about
the environment and who lives there.

SOCIAL STUDIES
Social Studies is a very fun subject.
 We learned about Westward Movement and had
a prairie picnic.
 We also learned about Argonauts and the Gold
Rush.

FIELD TRIPS
I loved the field trips in room 16!
 We always go somewhere new and creative.
 For example, at the beginning of the year, we
went to the Nutcracker play, and at the end of
the year we went to the Audubon.
 In a few days, we are going to go panning for
gold!

PEN PALS
This year we had exiting pen pals from Russia.
 We got to pick pen pals that we could connect
with.
 I always can’t wait to get a letter from my pen
pal.
 I love learning something new from Russia.
 We make power points and send them back and
forth.

