 Project Allocation: €8.6 Million



Period of implementation: 2015 – 2020
Project objectives;

Increase the partner countries’ administrative and technical capacity
for sector policy analysis, its development and implementation

Accelerate sector reform policies on access to sustainable energy,
energy efficiency and energy supplies, and

Facilitate the implementation of the investment projects needed to
meet the overall SE4All objective of making modern energy services
accessible to all.
Activities of the TAF;

Policy and reform, capacity building, investment projects planning
support, mobilising funds and partnerships and industrial and
technology cooperation.

Programme: Global

Project Allocation: €75 Million

Period of implementation: Beginning 2016

Project background:


an innovative mechanism to unlock, accelerate and leverage investments
increasing or improving access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern
energy. Main target is the private sector. Details: http://www.electrifi.org/
Project objectives:





achieve intensive mobilisation of the private sector
in the business of increasing or improving access to modern, affordable and
sustainable energy services
for populations living principally in rural, underserved areas as well as areas
affected by unreliable power supply
encourage more actions in the field of renewable energy in general with
emphasis on decentralised sustainable energy solutions and
with potential to attract additional financing to ElectriFI clients.

islands) of Tuvalu
14

Country: Tuvalu
 Project background: The project is located in Tuvalu and aims at reducing the
reliance on fossil fuels for electricity generation in the outer islands of Tuvalu
(Nukulaelae, Nukufetau and Nui) by promoting the use of renewable energy
resources

Area of Intervention: Solar photovoltaic and capacity building
 Project Cost: €2,500,000

Achievements:

Grid-connected, battery-backed solar PV systems on the islands of
Nukulaelae, Nukufetau and Nui.

Availability of electricity from the current 18h to 24h

120,000 litres or AUD 200,000/year in diesel savings


