The Ancient Greeks discovered a number
ratio that occurs in nature at an astounding
rate. They discovered that when applied to
art, this ratio creates pleasing results.
This ratio is known as the “Golden Ratio” or
the “Golden Mean”

1.618 to 1

Series of numbers that
create this ratio is called
the Fibonacci Numbers

1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34, etc.

Musical Example

Many scholars study the Golden Ratio and
attempt to apply it to various “things” in the
world. Do you think it “works” if forced upon
an art form?


is part of a “Grand Design?”

by accident (most likely).
