b. Suggested Theme: “Disaster Risk Reduction Through Climate
Change Adaptation”
Objectives:

b. To promote alignment of common approaches and policies between
DRR and climate change adaptation
c. To promote technical and tangible solutions using available and
emerging technologies for DRR
d. Promote and enhance existing mechanism of sharing climate change
information and the technical development in the field of DRR.
Sessions:
 Session 1 and 2:(The words development and establishment give
the impression that this theme will focus primarily on the setting up
of such systems. further recommended that instead of using “Early
Warning & Evacuation Systems” it can be instead “Early Warning and
Early Action”. Will this theme include scaling up and replicating the
experiences of existing risk analysis and early warning systems (ex.
tsunami warning system in Japan)?



Session 3: The session seems to be a bit broad. Could it be made
more specific?)
Session 4; The topic of technological hazards does not seem to fit
with the overall theme of the conference, Maybe it could be made
clearer how the issue of technological hazards would be integrated
into the discussions on DRR for CC adaptation. How about
introducing it in special sessions or side events
Session 5: Same Recommendation as Session 3.
