An Overview of Leprosy
 History tells us that leprosy is one of the
oldest scourges of mankind. For a long time
leprosy was thought to be hereditary disease,
a punishment from God.
 However, in 1873, it was discovered that the
bacillus Mycobacterium Leprae was the real
cause of leprosy and not God.

Leprosy Continued
 Leprosy attacks the nerve cells. The patients
may be unable to feel when they get injured.
Serious disabilities occur including the loss of
fingers and toes.
 Leprosy is mainly spread by tiny droplets from
the nose and not from God.
 Leprosy is a curable disease, which means
that all active Mycobacteria can be killed.
