MOUG Report
(Aug. 2009, rev. April 2010)
Display-related Issues that have not been corrected:
1) First screen of bibliographic records lacks crucial information or links
to details (see examples 1, 4-4.2)
2) Essential information for music-related resources and discovery does
not display (see examples 1, 1.2-1.3)
3) User cannot quickly find search terms in a bibliographic record (see
example 2)
4) No distinction in display between names shared by multiple people (see
example 3)
5) Uniform titles are not displayed (240, 7xx fields) (see examples 1.1-1.3)
6) Musical works and expressions do not appear together with their
composers, often rendering identification of works impossible (see
examples 4-4.2)

(Aug. 2009, rev. April 2010)
Other Recommendations that have not been implemented:

displays within results (see example 4)
8) Enable pre-limiting by multiple formats in Advanced Search.
9) Use real-language Boolean operators in Advanced Search (AND*, OR,
NOT) (see example 5)
10) Increase prominence of link to Help window in Advanced Search.
11) Issues with hyperlinks leading to works by multiple people with
similar names (see example 1)

Other Issues & Observations
 Automatic limits placed on certain searches (see example 9)
 Links for electronic resources are sometimes difficult to locate (see example 10)
 Misleading edition or format information (see examples 11-11.4)
 Temporary shelf locations do not display in WCL (see example 12-12.1)
 WCL only exports information from the first screen (above-the-fold) into
citation management systems, such as Refworks (see example 13)
 WCL assumes that each 035 a or z subfield means one holding
