Document to Email
(Word 2007)
Simple tips to successfully
transfer documents

Saving a word processing document

Upon opening a new document it is best to
save it in Rich Text Format (.rtf)
 This
will cause the auto-save feature to begin
saving regularly
 It allows all word processing software to open the
file properly
Steps to Save a Document in Rich Text
Format
Step 1 Click on Office Button
 Step 2 Choose Save As
 Step 3 Select Other Formats


•Type name of your document
•Click on pick list arrow
•Choose Rich Text Format
Attaching Docs Using Yahoo Mail
In To: box type your email address
 Subject: Type assignment name

Click on Attach

Select your doc
from the location
you saved within
 Click Open to
complete the
process

Steps to Attach Docs (Yahoo)
Last step: double
check that the
document is attached
 Then Click Send
 Before logging off,
check your email to
see that it arrived

Issues with Yahoo Mail

If you are using Internet Explorer from
school, and it keeps logging you out of
your email account, change to Mozilla
Firefox.
 The
issue is normally resolved after switching.

Start by Clicking Compose
mail
 Type your email in To: box
 Type assignment title in
Subject box


Click Attach a file
 Select your document to attach
 Click Open


 Click Send (if all is correct)

Note: You can also attach
additional documents if needed

Type your email in To:
box
 Type assignment title

 Click Open

 Click Send (if correct)

Final Notes
Always check that the email arrived in your
in-box before logging out of your email
account
 Some documents may be too large to
attach and send.

 Usually
these are files with video or music
clips.
 You can upload for free using sites such at
Driveway.com, Teacher Tube or SlideShare.
 You can use a flash drive as well – YOU
MUST HAVE THE DRIVE SCANNED BY
LIBRARY STAFF
