What classroom management strategies could be
used to effectively manage students while they are
using technology for your situation?
 Management strategy (have a plan A, B, C, etc)
 Keep the faster students interested while not out-pacing the
slower ones
 Have students abide by the computer classroom rules
 “If the computer is not on fire, then try to figure out a solution to the problem.’
 Set guidelines for the computer class or activity
 Guided composition
 Set rules and stick by them
 Demonstrating the activity first with one computer connected to
a projector
 Use guides and assessments to keep the students on task
 Worksheet; a sheet that they can check the items off as they go along
 Listening and analyzing compositions with two examples of
what was liked and tell them what they can improve
 Equal opportunity at using the software

 “When should notation software be
used? Simple. When the main objective
is to print out a part or score for
someone to read. Remember the “n”
rule: if notes are required, then use a
notation program.” (Rudolph, 2004, pg.
