Europe the A-Z Vacation You get to take a trip to a country and show a PowerPoint presentation on it. This is a 9 week project • You will have 9 weeks to complete this. –You will have some class time, but you will also need to spend your own time on it. That is why I am giving you 9 weeks. –You will also have some spare time to work on it in computer class. YOUR MISSION • If you choose to accept it which of course you will because you have no choice….. What is this Project? • You will be given a country in Europe. -You will need to make a 28 slide PowerPoint presentation. -The first page will be the title page. The last page will be the resources page. What about the other 26 Slides? • There are 26 letters in the Alphabet. Yep, you guessed it. Each page will introduce the letter and the title of your slide, and how the title relates to the letter. Plus any graphics you would like to incorporate with each slide. For Example •E The Eiffel Tower • With 2 million visitors the first year and almost 6 million people a year today, the Eiffel Tower is a real crowd pleaser. At the crossroads of the entire world, 170 million visitors have come since its construction. Are there any other requirements? • You have 10 things at least that you need to include in your presentation. 1. Government 8. Education 2. 3. 4. 5. 9. Tourism 10. Foods. Economy Art and Music Flag Major Landforms 6. Customs/Traditions/Holidays 7. The People Anything Else? • While giving your presentation you must have the country’s national anthem playing softly in the background. One such site is http://www.gergo.com/home/midi/anthems. htm or http://www.imagesoft.net/flags/flags.html Is There Going to be a Test? • Yes there will be. This is how we will do it. You will have to make a fill in the blank worksheet for your presentation that will allow people to take notes during your presentation. You will pick 3 questions that you think are important off your study guide and submit them to me. I will then make a test out of all the questions. We will be doing other things • While you are working on this project we will be doing other things in class. Whether it will be that we are studying Europe, or some other place. You will need to be self motivated to get this project done and to keep it moving along. We will take the last couple weeks of school to present these. What Else? • You can find the information wherever it is. Whether it is books, encyclopedias, internet, etc. One word of caution. The internet is full of false information. Make sure you can prove the information is correct before you use it. You must cite your sources on the resource page. You can just not copy someone else’s work and use it as your own.
