What Does it Cost?
AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2005, the following Family Health fees will
apply:
Most shots are free through the Vaccines for Children program.
We will charge $3.70 or $6.40 to give each shot (depending on the
type of shot).
School and Sports Physicals will cost $20
Sick Child Visits will cost $24.25
Well Child Visits will cost $32.15
Please ask us for a list of other Family Health Fees.
We will bill Medicaid (KidCare) whenever possible.
No patients will be turned away if they
can’t pay these or any other fees!
Did You Know?
Last year nearly 3,800 people a month were enrolled in
WIC at Public Health.
Our case managers help hundreds of women and their
families gain access to medical care.
Pregnant women who come to us for prenatal care are
more likely to have healthy babies.
We teach women to breastfeed their newborns.
We help pregnant women kick the smoking habit.
We help teen parents finish high school.
Last year we helped enroll about 800 kids in KidCare
(Medicaid).
Family Health Does Even More!
We conducted more than 900
school & sports physicals last year.
We give kids the shots they need to
stay healthy.

What Does it Cost?
AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2005, the following Community Health
Nursing fees will apply:

Adult pneumonia shots cost $26 plus $3.70 = $29.70

We teach adults and kids how

and offer health screenings to
men and women at risk of

Dental Health
We offer low cost dental
care to children 3 to 18
who live in Champaign
or Urbana.
Care includes exams,
cleanings, fluoride
treatments, sealants,
fillings and other
services.
Emergency cases are
seen within 24 hours of
calling our clinic.
What Does it cost?
All services are affordable and most are covered
by Medicaid (KidCare).

AND REMEMBER…
No patients will be turned away
because they can’t afford to pay!
Did You Know?
You can clean your child’s first teeth
with a wet washcloth. Switch to a
toothbrush when more teeth appear.
Permanent teeth come in when a
child is 6-7 years old.
Make sure you brush twice a day for
two minutes each time.
Flossing is a great way to fight
cavities. Ask us to show you how.

Did You Know?
Dental checkups are required for kids entering
kindergarten, second and sixth grades.
We offer dental checkups to children entering
Head Start and day care programs.
Children who live in Urbana can also visit the
Urbana School-based Health Center for dental
care. Call (217) 239-4220 to schedule an
appointment.
HIV/STD/TB Prevention & Management
We offer counseling for those
at risk of HIV or sexually
transmitted diseases (STDs).
HIV tests are free when you
visit our STD clinic.
We offer pregnancy tests and
give out condoms and other
supplies.
All services are private and
confidential.

We offer adult travel
immunizations.
We screen those at risk
for Hepatitis C, and offer
Hepatitis A and B
vaccinations.
We provide Tuberculosis
tests and treatment.

Our mobile clinics
bring services to many
neighborhoods.
We offer services and
support to HIV+ people
and their families.
We hold a support
group for people with
Hepatitis.
What Does it cost?
AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2005, the following HIV/STD/TB fees will
apply:

Other adult shots (immunizations)cost between $33 and $82,
depending on the shot.
There is a $20 suggested donation for the Sexually Transmitted
Disease (STD) Clinic.

for inability to pay a fee!
Did you know?
Last year 1,202 people in Champaign
County tested positive for chlamydia,
an STD that can cause infertility in
women. Chlamydia is easily treated
with antibiotics.
One person with untreated active
Tuberculosis can infect 10 to 15
people per year!
The only way to find out if you are
HIV+ is to be tested. Ask us how you
can protect yourself from infection.
