The Power
Of Music
Methodology




Our project was focusing on the power of music and the mind over the body and
focusing on if certain types of music could increase the heart rate or decrease it.
We brought our test subjects into the room and took their BPM (beats per minute)
before we tested them, during, as well as after when we put the softer music.
Then compared results of different people and saw that many times the heart rate
did go up, and we and also we wrote down the factors involved around the area
where they were being tested.
We saw that people with high behavioral notes like laughing and talking would tend
to higher the heart rates than people who sat still.
Data Table

The data table
shows the total,
average, fast,
slow, and
difference in the
heart rate.

How Music Effects Heart Rate

These two graphs show
the difference in the
heart rate for every
given person we tested.
It’s not goIng In a
orderly manner but is
all scattered which
means no one followed or
showed a certain order.

It shows the Fast Heart
rate, the Slow Heart
Rate, and the total
heart rate. It also has
the diff between the
fast and slow.

Conclusion

The information given is not 100%
accurate and needs to be tested again.
The information was not in a stable
trend line. The points were given in all
types of positions. We hope to find more
data for this project but in all the
music does seem to have an affect on
peoples BPM. Even though it is
spread out it shows a significant
change In the body’s pulse rate.
We hope to get better readings
later on in the process.
Analysis

After Doing several Experiments
and seeing the results, we were
proud to see that there was
certainly an effect with Music and
the Heart Rate. We saw many
Changes in Heart rates according
to the music and Heart rest. We
saw good Results 
What we would do
differently
Use and actual heart rate monitor
to have more accurate data and
results
 A closed room in order to be away
from distractions and
unnecessary noises
 More people, for more results
 More control over the music
