Evening Book Discussion
June 1 at 6:30 PM
Abby Ripley, a New Milford
resident, has graciously
agreed to be the facilitator of
this group and has come up
with a terrific list of books.
The book for June is “The
White Tiger” by Aravind
Adiga and the library will
provide the books.
The group is limited to 10
people, so please call 860355-1191 x201 to sign up.
eBooks at the Library
June 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 at 4 PM
This is an open Q&A
session for New Milford
residents who would like
help setting up their
downloadable library
eBooks. Bring your device,
your library card and your
questions. No appointment
is necessary, just walk in.
There will be 5 sessions in
June: June 1, June 8, June
15, June 22 and June 29.
Safety First
June 1 and 3 at 1:00 PM
In this class you will learn
how to develop good
security habits, create
effective passwords and
reduce your exposure to
threats. The class will also
cover virus protection,
firewalls, etc.
This class will meet twice
from 1:00-3:00 PM each
day. You must attend the
first session to continue with
the second half of the class.
Registration is required.
History of Music of the 50’s & 60’s
June 3 at 6:30 PM
You know the music, you
know the times! Let Marc
Black bring them together
for you with this rollicking
performance! Marc is a folkrocker who has performed
and recorded with many
luminaries. He was recently
named Folk Artist of the
Year, was a winner at the
Kerrville Folk Festival and
was chosen to perform with
Pete Seeger at the Folk
Music Hall of Fame.
NMPL’s Writers’ Group
Summer Months
The group is taking a hiatus
for the summer.
There will be no meetings
for June, July and August.
Updates will be posted in
the fall.

Monday Movies at NMPL
June 8 at 1:00 PM
Come view foreign films
and discuss them. This
month in this free series we
will feature “The Lunch
Box.”
The film is in Hindi with
English subtitles. It is rated
PG and runs 105 minutes.
Light refreshments and a
discussion will follow the
presentation.
Facebook 1: The Starter Kit
June 10, 15, 17 and 22 at 1:00 PM
In this course, you will
learn about Facebook,
become a member of this
free website and post
messages and photos
online. This class will meet
for 4 sessions from 1:003:00 PM each day. You
must attend the first
session to continue with
the remaining sessions of
the class. Registration is
required.
Knit in Public
June 13 from 10 AM – 4 PM
Come and join us with
thousands of people around
the world all knitting together
on the same day. On The
Green across from The New
Milford Public Library. Bring
your knitting or crochet
projects. Bring some Show &
Tell. Bring a friend, your
lunch, a chair or a blanket.
Come for an hour or stay for
the day. For more

Science Fiction Book Group
June 15 at 6:30 PM
Marilyn Gunerman, a New
Milford resident, has
graciously agreed to be the
facilitator of this group. All
book choices are drawn from
award winners. The group
meets the third (3rd) Monday
of the month in the
Connecticut Room.
The library will provide the
books. The group is limited to
10 people, so please call to
sign up.
Buying a Home in 2015
June 17 at 6:30 PM
Paula Greenberg, a licensed
mortgage broker from
Westport Mortgage Co. will
present a free, educational
seminar that focuses on
market expectations for
2015, buying as opposed to
renting, the process for
purchase, and what lenders
are looking for in qualified
buyers. Registration is

1:00 PM in Memorial Hall
This is our monthly series
where we host a mystery
book discussion group.
This month's book is
“The Territory”
by Tricia Fields.
We provide the books and
you provide the insight! The

“Reel Justice” Film Series
June 24 at 6:00 PM
Tonight is the final film in our
series of courtroom drama
movies selected and hosted
by Mark Hasskarl, New
Milford Public Library
Director. As always, the
movie presentation will also
offer film notes and
refreshments. Tonight's
movie is "A Cry in the Dark".
No registration is required.

In this course, you will learn
how to customize your
profile, work with photo
albums, chat, groups and
more. You should already
have a Facebook account
and know how to post on
Facebook to take this
course. We will meet for 3
