Acts 13:18-22
Heart Stats
Every 34 seconds a person in the United States dies
from heart disease.
More than 2,500 Americans die from heart disease each
day.
Every 20 seconds, a person in the United States has a
heart attack.
At least 250,000 people die of heart attacks each year
before they reach a hospital.
Every 33 seconds, a person dies from Cardio Vascular
Disease in the United States.
Heart (Kardia)
denotes the centre of all physical and spiritual life
1) the vigor and sense of physical life
2) the centre and seat of spiritual life
a) the soul or mind, as it is the fountain and seat of the
thoughts, passions, desires, appetites, affections,
purposes, endeavors
b) of the understanding, the faculty and seat of the
intelligence
c) of the will and character
Understanding the heart
The heart is responsible for pumping blood
throughout the body.
The blood is always synonymous with life.
Leviticus 17:11 For the life of a creature is in the
blood, (part a)
Whatever is in the heart will generate what’s in
the life.
If there is a heart malfunction then the life will
flow improperly causing everything that it flows
to malfunction.
Understanding the heart
Everything that you are saying is a
result of what’s in your heart.
Everything you are doing is result of
what’s your heart.
Everything that you are feeling is a
result of what’s in your heart.
Everything that you are seeing is a
result of what’s in your heart.
Matthew 15:17-20
17 “Don’t you see that whatever enters the
mouth goes into the stomach and then out of
the body?
18 But the things that come out of a person’s
mouth come from the heart, and these defile
them.
19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts—
murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false
testimony, slander.
20 These are what defile a person; but eating
with unwashed hands does not defile them.”
Guard your heart
One of the most dangerous statements is “follow
your heart.”
Jeremiah 7:23 But this thing commanded I them,
saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God,
and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the
ways that I have commanded you, that it may be
well unto you.
24But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear,
but walked in the counsels [and] in the
imagination of their evil heart, and went backward,
and not forward.
Proverbs 4:23 20 My son, pay attention to
what I am saying; incline your ear to my
words.
21 Don't let them out of your sight, keep them
deep in your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them and
health to their whole being.
23 Above everything else, guard your heart;
for it is the source of life's consequences.

Heart Transplant
Whenever the heart is is bad there must
be a heart transplant in order to preserve
life.
Psalms 51:10Create in me a clean heart, O
God; and renew a right spirit within me.
The heart of God is the heart that is absent
of contamination.
The heart of God is the heart that is
functioning at full capacity.
Developing the heart of God
1. David understood how to serve.
2. David trusted God no matter what the obstacle
looked like.
3.David understood spiritual authority.
4.David was a true worshipper.
5.David did not move until God gave him
permission.
6.David had a heart of repentance.
